Hi swim families! We are providing this information as a guide for the different volunteer positions available for the summer swim season. Our team relies on parent volunteers to ensure the success of our Saturday A meets and Monday B meets during the summer.
The volunteer positions listed in the table below are for A and B “home” meets. Although we need volunteers for “away” meets, fewer volunteers are necessary for “away” meets. Each family is asked to volunteer for 20 hours each summer, and the number of hours credited for each volunteer position will be listed in the signups. Signups for volunteer positions will be posted in SwimTopia prior to each meet.
These volunteer opportunities are a great way to meet like-minded members of the community while having fun and supporting a common cause. We look forward to making the 2025 summer swim season a fantastic, fun, and productive summer for all of our swimmers and their families!
Thank you in advance for your willingness to help out!

Committees:
This year, the LH Tritons are asking for volunteers to lead six committees that will help coordinate different team activities for the summer:
-
Volunteers Committee:
The Volunteer Committee, overseen by the Volunteer Coordinator, will track and report volunteer hours of Member Families. This committee tracks the volunteer sign up lists through SwimTopia to ensure coverage for each meet, and may also help fill holes for gaps in volunteers, as needed. -
Meet Officials Committee:
The Meet Officials Committee, overseen by the Meet Officials Coordinator, is responsible for ensuring necessary training is completed and all necessary meet officials positions, such as stroke/turn judges and referees, are filled for swim meets. -
Table Worker and Awards Committee:
The Table Worker and Awards Committee, overseen by the Table Worker and Awards Coordinator in coordination with the Team Representatives, shall coordinate all data table activities for swim meets, prepare meet cards, and ensure award ribbons are prepared once results of the meets are finalized. The committee will establish procedures so that table worker volunteers (place recorders, data entry, verifiers, and award clerks) can be trained on data entry software and on procedures for data tables during swim meets. This committee will also track team records and personal bests to assist Team Representatives and coaches with presenting awards to swimmers throughout the summer. -
Social Events and Spirit Committee:
The Social Events Committee, overseen by the Social Events Coordinator, develops themes for home events, schedules team pictures, and coordinates social events for the swim team. The Social Events and Spirit Committee will maintain an events calendar for the summer swim session. The Social Events Committee will organize age-group activities, team activities, end of season party, and will coordinate coaches appreciation gifts. The Social Events and Spirit Committee will also design and order team spirit wear, including t-shirts and swim caps. -
Concessions Committee:
The Concessions Committee, overseen by the Concessions Coordinator, develops and plans menus and ensures timely purchase of food and food service supplies for the concessions during swim meets or other social events coordinated by the Social Events and Spirit Committee. The Concessions Committee will prepare a budget and price items appropriately to maximize profits. The Concessions Committee will also coordinate volunteers to ensure set up and cleanup of the concessions area(s) after events. -
Fundraising Committee:
The Fundraising Committee, overseen by the Fundraising Coordinator, coordinates the pursuit of corporate sponsorships.
